7DaysDedicated was started when myself and a group of friends would game together. It started out as just a dynamic URL so they could easily connect to the 7 Days to Die server I was running, as opposed to having to type in an IP every time in case my internet provider decided to change it on me. Because beer in 7 Days gave an over powered amount of stamina and we like to drink beer when we game, an inside joke came from 2 beers being enough to give you essentially unlimited stamina for a short period of time, to us always having to grab 2 beers when we’d play. And when picking a dynamic DNS name for the URL, I wanted to pay homage to 7 Days to Die and added dedicated to be a dedicated link instead of an IP. But you have to pick a secondary domain name as part of the full domain name for free DNS, and servebeer.com was the secondary part of the domain name since it fit with the joke, becoming 7daysdedicated.servebeer.com. This lead to the Serve Beer Discord server being created as well.
We eventually started branching off into other sandbox games like Ark Survival Evolved, Conan Exiles, and Valheim. This lead me to wanting to host games to a more public audience, and 7DaysDedicated was born. It is part of the title of all the worlds we host. And we’ve expanded the Discord channel to be more of a community. And from that, this Gaming Community was spawned. I’ve even registered 7DaysDedicated as a business, though you will never have to pay to play on any of our servers. We may add in purchasable in-game items later on, or even a swag store if you choose to support 7DaysDedicated. But nothing will ever be required to be a part of the community.
